We were asked to create a client then design a condominium apartment for them.
I decided on a single father with a daughter that is Kenophobic ( Scared of large empty spaces),
Designing a home that is not too open for the daughter, but also not too clustered for the father.
Our first assignment was to create bubble diagrams and blocking them onto the already existing floor plan
This was the base floor plan that was given to us, and we were told that height was not an issue because it was a double height penthouse.
For this first layout, I decided to make a mezzanine form for Adrian's room so then he can get the freedom he needs, then having the rest of the house downstairs
For this second one, I wanted to have a main hallway that connected every main aspect of the house, as a way of visual transparency
I finally decided to go with the first bubble diagram, because it gave me more control over Nicole's room for her phobia, and it also meant that Adrian did not have to be as restricted with spaces.
